High-quality raw propolis

The premium raw propolis in the practical 200g bag is high-quality propolis with up to 60% resin content, hand-picked by our master beekeeper Stefan Kumm. The pure natural product can be used in a variety of ways, for example for vaporizing with the propo steam, for making your own tinctures or for chewing.

What is propolis?

Propolis is a resinous substance that worker bees extract and produce from various materials to line their hive. They use it, for example, to close small cracks or holes and thus seal their hive. The exact ingredients of propolis vary and depend on the external environment, but also on the seasons.

Raw propolis for vaporization

The air in the beehive is very special, and anyone who loves the scent of honey will appreciate the scent of the beehive all the more. If you would like to experience this scent intensively, you can inhale raw propolis or vaporize it in the room - this creates a wonderfully pleasant room fragrance.

If you want to use raw propolis in the Propo Steam, you need to fill the jar in the device halfway. 200g of raw propolis is sufficient for about 40 fillings. If the inhaler is used for eight hours a day, the contents should be changed after about a week.

Raw propolis for dissolving

You can dissolve raw propolis to make your own propolis drops. To do this, you need 100g of raw propolis and 70% alcohol, which you can get from a pharmacy or liquor store. You will also need a sealable container.
Depending on how concentrated you want your tincture to be, add 250ml to 350ml of propolis to the container and mix well. The mixture should now infuse for three to four weeks. During this time, you should shake the jar vigorously once or twice a day so that it dissolves better. After the infusion time, leave your mixing vessel to stand for a while so that all the insoluble parts settle. Finally, use a coffee filter to strain the tincture.

Chew the propolis

In many Eastern European countries, it is customary to chew raw propolis two to three times a day. This involves very small amounts, around one to two grams, which are chewed slowly. This eliminates the rather bitter taste of propolis. Propolis has long been chewed in folklore. However, its medicinal effectiveness has not yet been proven.

Note: We recommend checking the raw propolis for residues from the beehive before chewing.
